Manual measurement taking for diabetes parameters requires assistance from care providers for routine measurements. Errors and delays occur due to manual methods, potentially delaying care and expert advice due to erroneous measurement data. The client wished to continue using the existing app despite the change in technology.
Background
The client’s care providers visited patients at home and used their devices for measurements. These measurements were manually entered into their homegrown app by the care providers and then uploaded to the client's cloud for further reference by their panel of doctors.
Connected Solution
iOrbit addressed all the client's challenges by introducing a set of easy-to-use connected devices like the Glucometer, BP device, Pulse oximeter, and thermometer, along with an Android app. These devices connected via Bluetooth to the Android app running on a mobile. The measurements from the connected device were automatically noted in the app and then uploaded to the iOrbit connected cloud. The measurement data was further uploaded to the client’s cloud through cloud-cloud connectivity. Once trained, patients could easily use the devices and the app without care provider intervention or support. In addition to connected devices, iOrbit also introduced an innovative OCR-based solution that worked with existing devices without internet capabilities. Since the client preferred to continue using their current app, iOrbit developed a Service App solution that integrated iOrbit’s connectivity solution within the client’s app with minimal changes to the existing app.
